I was catching up with a female friend, who was telling me about her latest adventure.

She has been working with this chap for the past 3 years, but it has been platonic ever since. He was her mentor, and she had no lusty views towards him, knowing he was married and about to have a second child.

This is the perfect example of the close-quarter theory, where, given enough time, two people of opposite genders will start developing attraction beyond just a professional or friendship basis after a certain amount of time in a closed environment.

My friend and this guy went to work events abroad a few times; he was not a direct reporter but was working in a different department; she shared her personal stories with him, and so did he with her. She told me he held the figure of a guide within the organisation and supported her questions.

He never made a move towards her. Both are party people getting shitfaced when the opportunity arises. Despite this setup, nothing happened in their past encounters. They kept it "professional".
